NOURISH FAMILIES.

EMPOWER COMMUNITIES.

RESTORE CREATION.

A NON-PROFIT EDUCATION FARM IN BONSALL

The Agrarian Institute’s mission is to plant seeds of hope in our community, so that every family, especially those facing homelessness and food insecurity, have access to healthy, organic food. We grow nutrient-rich produce for our neighbors in need, empower families through gardening and health education courses, and restore our local ecosystem through regenerative Creation Care land management.

Food Insecurity in San Diego.

Food insecurity casts a dark shadow over many of our neighbors in San Diego. As inflation continues to skyrocket, over 750,000 San Diegans do not have consistent access to enough nutritious food for a healthy life - 194,000 of them are children!

Our Farm Programs

  • Education

We empower our community by sharing the knowledge and skills needed to cultivate thriving gardens. Our classes, events, internships, and volunteer days not only teach the art of growing fresh, healthy veggies, but also foster a sense of connection to God’s creation and a deeper appreciation for sustainable living.

  • Food Relief

We grow organic vegetables and rescue fruit from neglected orchards that fill the plates of food insecure families in our community. We believe that every child deserves wholesome, fresh food, and our commitment is to grow it with love, care, and dedication. We partner with Churches and existing non-profits like Operation Hope homeless shelter and +Box food pantry, to get our food into the homes of families in need.

  • Creation Care

We believe all land is a precious gift from God and taking care of it is one of our oldest human callings. For the past 40 years, our small hillock in Bonsall has been abused and mistreated. Restoring the land we’ve been blessed to steward is central to our mission. When we prioritize the well-being of our local ecosystems, we not only protect God’s creation but also ensure the health and prosperity of our own communities.

The way we farm matters.

The Agrarian Institute education farm is constructed and stewarded using regenerative permaculture farming practices - a revolutionary Creation Care philosophy that works with nature to build healthy soils, capture & conserve water, sequester carbon, produce fertility inputs on-site, and design innovative and sustainable closed loop local food systems. Our regenerative education farm is built for resiliency and positioned to prosper and flourish in times of extreme heat and drought, prevalent in Southern California.
